Laprice
Biography
Laprice was born in Waycross, Ga and was raised by her grandmother while her mother finished college and prepared for their move to Los Angeles, where at the age of four Laprice showed her love for dancing. Introduced to singing at age ten, her mother's friend, a musician, saw her potential and began to serve as her mentor and voice trainer. Her new coach had her join his daughters in practicing harmonies and singing three part harmonies into the wee hours of the morning, as well as guiding her talent with different vocal exercises.
Laprice counts Janet Jackson, Lauren Hill, Jill Scott and Faith Evans among her influences, and by the age of fourteen she was winning talent shows and establishing her name in the music world while studying ballet, tap and lyrical dance to broaden her performing horizons. Laprice majored in business in college and worked as a manager in the fashion industry so that she could prepare herself for her joint career in the performance and business end of the music industry. Indeed, Laprice is just as much a rising star in the boardroom as she is on stage.
